Empower Program
A Summer Camp Program That Celebrates Every Child
Everbloom, in partnership with Cambridge Farm & Forest School, aims to increase access to summer camp for children of all abilities. The Empower Program is designed to support children with additional needs who would not otherwise be able to access traditional camp settings in experiencing the joy, adventure, and growth that summer camp provides.
The farm and forest environment offers unique opportunities for sensory exploration, hands-on learning, animal-interactions, and meaningful connections with nature. Through modified programming and individualized one-on-one occupational therapy support, our goal is to provide a positive camp experience for all of our campers. We recognize that we cannot meet every child’s needs but do our best to work towards a safe and successful summer for all involved.
Our Approach to Inclusion:
The Empower Program represents our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where children of all abilities can play in their own way and build memorable summer camp experiences. We work closely with families leading up to their child’s week at camp to understand their unique needs, strengths, and interests to ensure a successful and enriching summer experience at the farm.

Inclusion is the practice of creating environments where every child is able to participate and grow in ways that honour their individuality. It recognizes that children may communicate, play, and interact differently, and that these differences do not limit meaningful connection. Inclusion at Everbloom is supported by adults who guide peers toward empathy, understanding, and acceptance, ensuring that all forms of play and expression are valued.

Balancing integration with individualized programming to create a plan that honours the child’s unique needs, strengths, and interests
Enabling and facilitating equity, access and participation
Using reflective practice (identifying our own biases and assumptions and understanding how they influence our interactions and perceptions of situations)
Collaborating with Farm & Forest summer camp counsellors
Teaching other campers and staff about inclusion principles
Helping all campers be safe and successful in the camp environment

The one-on-one support model looks different for every child given their occupational therapy goals for their week at camp. Supports may include but are not limited to:
Facilitating peer interactions
Assisting with activities of daily living such as dressing, eating, and toileting
Balancing participation with quiet time and/or sensory breaks
Navigating big emotions and resolving conflicts collaboratively
Supporting all forms of communication
Enhancing environmental awareness to support safe participation in outdoor settings (particularly for children at risk of elopement)
Implementing modifications and accommodations to the schedule as needed
Our Assessment Process
Before your first week at camp, our team conducts a comprehensive intake process that includes consultation with families and other professionals as needed. This collaborative approach helps us create a plan that is tailored to your child’s strengths, interests, and goals.
Assessment Process:
1-hour Virtual Intake Assessment (caregiver & therapist): $150
1-hour Observational Assessment at the Farm (child & therapist): $150
For current individual therapy clients who have already completed the assessment process, we will be in touch to discuss summer camp plans and any further information needed.
The Empower Team
Our Empower Team consists of registered occupational therapists and student occupational therapists who bring professional expertise in supporting children’s development and participation. They work on a one-on-one basis to support the camper and their family during their week of camp.
A senior occupational therapist serves as a consistent point of contact for families throughout the summer, providing ongoing communication and support as needed.

Our campers are typically ages 2.5-14 with physical, cognitive, social and/or emotional challenges.
A child does not require a formal medical diagnosis to benefit from the Empower Program and occupational therapy services.
Common physical, behavioural, and/or developmental disabilities we support include, but are not limited to, the following list:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Social and Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Down Syndrome
Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
Hearing & Visually Impaired
Scoliosis

Each session accommodates a maximum of 2 campers.
Session 1: July 27 - 31
Session 2: August 4-7 (Short Week)
Session 3: August 10-14
Session 4: August 17-21
Camp runs daily from9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Campers are responsible for bringing their own snacks and lunches.
Please note that capacity within our Empower Program is limited. To support equitable access for all families, enrollment is restricted to a maximum of two weeks per family.

$825 per week. (Registration is for the entire week. Individual days are not available). Please note that short weeks have a reduced rate. These prices will be reflected online during the registration process.
A non-refundable deposit of $200 will be due upon booking. Remaining payment must be made two weeks prior to your child’s week at camp.
Pricing reflects the cost of individualized one-on-one occupational therapy support, highly trained staff, low ratios, and individualized programming designed to support regulation, participation, and meaningful play for children who would not otherwise be able to access traditional camp settings.
Please note that the Empower Program may be eligible for coverage through extended health benefit plans that include occupational therapy, as well as other funding sources. For your convenience, we have compiled a list of potential funding options here.
